Some of this post was made as a reply to R5CYA who references to single player and multiplayer (this thread/post ) being included when purchasing Red Orchestra 2 GOTY (now the only version available on Store) where there is nothing mentioning either single player or beta on the Store page for that game.Īdditionally the Rising Storm Store page mentions all Red Orchestra 2 content is included but may be misleading due to the missing RO2 singleplayer content and again there is no mention of beta. Maybe the manual download of betas being required for beta's to show in library after purchasing and installing Red Orchestra 2/Rising Storm would help prevent a lot of misunderstanding which may mean what is contained in the appropriate Store page would need to reflect what people actually get when considering buying. This is an example of more experienced people who should know better posting things in what appears to me be the wrong place or it may just be the case of the appropriate group pinned discussions needing updated appropriately as well. The announcement for Maggot Hill brewed map are in the Red Orchestra 2/Rising Storm Multiplayer group so maybe Rising Storm beta group announcements and pinned discussions may be more helpful and accurate if they were updated to. The server for the brewed Maggot Hill map are in the beta server list as well as another server. I suspect the Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad Beta client will be used for this as TWI confirmed this as a Red Orchestra 2 addon (and Rising Storm) on their website pages years ago. I would suggest the removal of this group since the Red Orchestra 2 beta client is not being used but suspect the public release or open beta testing for the In Country Vietnam add on will not be far away. Simply select game in library and go to community hub should point anybody to the appropriate group for that library item. I to posted similar issues in the wrong place when i first bought Red Orchestra 2/Rising Storm but have put time and effort into trying to understand what all the things in my library are for. Looking at discussions here in this group highlights a lot of people do not understand the Steam group system either as they are not posting in the group discussions in relation to what they are asking. and for Steam as well, as now all of this needs to be addressed properly and removing this version of RO2 from the Store most likely won't be such a simple thing to do and I doubt Steam's side of the situation won't be in any hurry to fix this mess.Īll this has come about due to the way Rising Storm add on is being merged, managed and marketed and how it appears in Store page compared to Red Orchestra 2. Seems like TW's plan to merge the two games as they did has just created one big confusing mess for themselves, existing players, potential buyers/players. If the second case is what happens, how do they get the 25% discount if their version of the game is removed from the Steam Store and is only located in their Steam Library? Or does everything just stay exactly the way it is for those players, whom would still get the 25% discount for RS later on, but prevents future players from getting stuck in this same category? A lot of work went into the SP with Voice Actors, cut scenes, missions, achievements, etc for it to be removed completely or left as some DLC that nobody would probably buy.īut the problem is, you still have some existing players who have yet to purchase Rising Storm, so what happens if this is done? Do they get the Full Version of RS without paying anything or do they get a bill in the mail telling the player that they owe TW more money? I 100% agree but with the SP Campaign just automatically included into the whole package & increasing the cost by $2-5 or something and be done with this mess.
